Red Sox Sign Punto To Replace Lowrie

The void created by trading away Jed Lowrie was filled it (sort of) with the signing of veteran utilityman Nick Punto. The 34-year old hit .278 in just 66 games for St. Louis last year. It's a good insurance move, but he was inked to a two-year deal for $3 million—which seems a little excessive for a lifetime .249 hitter.
