According to a Tweet by MLB Radio's Jim Bowden, the Red Sox were not among the teams that submitted a posting bid for Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish. Given their experience with Daisuke Matsuzaka, it's not surprising that the suddenly frugal Red Sox would not plunk down another $100 million or so on a hurler who is unproven in the United States. The Yankees, Rangers, Cubs and Blue Jays, on the other hand, did find the risk worth taking.
