Manny Ramirez, reinstated by MLB as eligible to play, made some interesting statements recently about his stay in Boston. In the midst of an interview in which he praised the Angels for signing Albert Pujols, Manny also stated:
"In Boston I matured; they treated me extremely well. Francona is a wonderful manager, who lets his players play in peace. It was a great experience, but I made another bad decision."
Really? Quitting on your team to the point that they had to get rid of you? That bad decision? Manny also agrees that Pujols, not himself, is the greatest right-handed hitter of this generation. Humility from Man-Ram! What next, apologizing for shoving down 60-something traveling secretary Jack McCormick ("Just do your job!")? Or maybe he's just angling for a new gig with a "revamped" image. You think?
