Knowing their desperate need for a closer (as the field of decent available options dwindles day by day), Oakland A's GM Billy Beane (AKA Brad Pitt), is attempting some highway robbery. Reports (Gammons, Cafardo) indicate that Oakland wants back third-baseman Will Middlebrooks (the Sox #1 prospect, pictured above) and Josh Reddick for the talented, but-oft-injured Andrew Bailey. After he pitched 68 innings in his Rookie Of The Year season, Bailey managed only 47 innings in 2010 and 42 in 2011. That's just too much to give up for a guy who might be too fragile for a long-term closer role.
