BenCher Needs To Shine At Winter Meetings
With the possible exception of the O.J. and Casey Anthony jury members, no one is believing Ben Cherington's assertion that Bobby V. was his guy all along. So, it's incumbent upon the new Sox GM to kick butt at the upcoming Winter Meetings in Dallas. He needs to establish some independent credibility—and Larry Luchhino has already said he's not going to be in the lovely MetroPlex area of Texas (see cuddly armadillo logo above) next week. Now is the time for BenCher to exercise whatever powers remain and build this team back to championship caliber. As we have detailed here before, there are a boatload of critical fixes this team needs before opening the gates at JetBlue Park in February. Hell, the NU Huskies could probably whip their butts without a right-fielder and a closer. Ben, be bold.
