Bailey Open To Coming Home To East Coast
In a wide-ranging interview with the Boston Herald's Scott Lauber, Oakland closer Andrew Bailey expressed a desire to play on the East Coast—where he grew up. Realistic about the inevitability of being traded from the small-market A's, he would welcome the pressure of pitching in the high-stakes Northeast. To get him, the Red Sox would likely have to part with either Josh Reddick or Ryan Kalish—since Billy Beane is looking for outfield help. They might also have to part with another prospect or two—since Billy Beane is greedy as well (in a good way). The proverbial clock is ticking on BenCher to get the multiple holes filled on this 2012 squad. Trading for Bailey would be a good start.
