Another Head Rolls In ConditioningGate
Lost amid all the blockbuster wheeling and dealing of the Red Sox off-season (insert appropriate heavy sarcasm here) was a key conditioning-related announcement. According to WEEI.com's Rob Bradford, the Red Sox have demoted head trainer Mike Reinold and hired Rick Jameyson to take his place. Jameyson was previously employed by the Cleveland Indians. This is just the latest casualty in ConditioningGate—the physical corollary to the much more celebrated BeerAndChickenGate. So far, the Sox have completely eliminated the position of Medical Director (cutting lose Dr. Thomas Gill) and also axed strength and conditioning coach Dave Page.
