Sox Mull New Medical 'Model'
One thing that hasn't changed with the departure of Theo Epstein is the penchant for using euphemisms to explain away painful issues. With the horrendous record of the Sox medical team over the last couple of years (Ellsbury's "bruised ribs"; Buchholz's "sore" back), it behooves a change. BenCher has stated that the team is considering a new medical "model". Read: Dr. Thomas Gil gets kicked upstairs, while the Massachusetts General Hospital Sports Medicine Group he runs retains the contract. God forbid they actually clean house and hire a whole new outfit—I've heard Boston has some pretty good medical institutions.
