Red Sox GM Ben Cherington (AKA BenCher) said the team has no plans to talk to any other managerial candidates beyond: Sandy Alomar Jr., Gene Lamont, Torey Lovullo, Pete Mackanin and Dale Sveum. I don't know about you, but this group seems barely more substantive than the Republican presidential field. Honestly, Alomar is probably the only one I'd find mildly acceptable—and he's never even managed.
