The Hearld's Michael Silverman is reporting that
the Red Sox have looked into signing Mets free-agent SS Jose Reyes. Lesser lights Cesar Izturis and Ronny Cedeno have also been investigated—which means Boston is probably thinking about dealing at least one of their trio of in-house options (Scutaro, Lowrie, Iglesias). We're not sure Reyes makes a lot of sense in Boston as his injuries (hammies, etc.) seem to be exacerbated by cold weather. The new Miami Marlins (who have offered him a boat load of cash and years) seem like a better all-around fit.
