CompensationNation Getting Antsy

Enough already! At Buster Olney's Vermont fundraiser on Saturday night, Theo Epstein joked to reporters (of which your humble scribe was one) that he could readily see his own many shortcomings as he negotiated compensation for his departure from Boston.

But, come on, hasn't this gone on long enough? The toothless threat by Bud Selig obviously had no impact on the talks, and it's now approaching Thanksgiving—a time when Theo has historically swindled trade partners in the past.

It says here that BenCher had better get at least one of the Cubs top 10 prospects (see list in photo) or else it will be 'strike three' in his first GM at-bat. In case you lost count, 'strike one' was assembling the most pedestrian group of potential managerial candidates in memory; and 'strike two' was letting the team's 'best closer ever' ship down to Philly. He'd better get this right.
