Wow, it didn't take former Red Sox GM Dan Duquette very long to put the hammer down. The Duke slayed the 'ornithologically-correct' bird that graced recent Oriole caps, and replaced it with a re-working of the goofy cartoon bird of yore. Of course, that "yore" was a period when the Birds won three World Championships, so you can understand the urge to go retro. Hey, this Bird laundry can't possibly be worse than the new Miami Marlins garb, a cross between a 'Jack in the Box' outfit and the old Astros "rainbow" monstrosity—more "throw-up" than "throw-back".
