In case anyone hasn't noticed, Marco Scutaro has won the FenwayNation Player O' The Game award three straight times. It's been a very long time since that happened. Last night's 4-5, two double, 4 RBI performance was just the latest in the amazing resurgence of the Red Sox shortstop.
In the last seven games, Scutaro is hitting .429, with 4 doubles and 6 RBIs. His OBP is a robust .478, with an OPS of 1.097—only Josh Reddick is hotter over the last week (.444/.500/1.278). Scutaro seems to finally be in the kind of groove that attracted Theo's attention during his one year north of the border. A steady, run-producing shortstop would be a huge boost for a team that, on some nights, needs a counter-intuitive candidate to power the offense.
