In the past, we heard a lot about about "bridge" years—you know, tanking it in anticipation of young kids coming up from the minors to fuel a new dynasty. Little did we know that 2011 would be a "bridge" year of a different kind—jumping off the Zakim Bridge when the team collapses and misses the post-season in September. It could happen, folks. (Editor's note: As of 9/10/11, 52.7% of FN readers are "very" or "somewhat" concerned about just such a collapse).
We are facing the last 18 games with a rotation of Lester, Lackey (if his shin is OK), Weiland, Miller and Wakefield. Does this inspire confidence?
